Water's Edge Series
1995-1996

Image #6

The beach has always been a special place for me. Since childhood I have loved to explore the sand and water which are in a relationship of constant change.

Even though this work is a departure from the multiple-exposure images I have been making for the past ten years, the concept of time and motion interweaving to create a mysterious, otherworldly reality is still very much my concern. In this work rather than interlace two images together to create the breakup of space, I have exaggerated the granular structure of the silver print to convey that illusion of the lack of stability. Close scrutiny of the images will illustrate the evanescent quality of reality that interests me.

[The portfolio consists of 18 limited edition images. Images size is 17"x17", overmatted to 23"x26".]
